Welcome to Secret Diary ("we", "our", or "the App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your information.

1. Information We Collect

Secret Diary does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. All information you enter into the App is stored exclusively on your device. Specifically:

Diary Entries: All diary content, titles, descriptions, and images are encrypted and stored locally on your device using SQLite database and secure storage. They are never uploaded to any server.
PIN and Authentication Data: Your PIN is securely stored on your device using platform-level secure storage (Android Keystore). We do not have access to your PIN.
Biometric Data: The App may use your device's biometric authentication (fingerprint or face recognition) for unlocking. Biometric data is processed entirely by your device's operating system. We never access, store, or transmit your biometric data.
Images: Photos you insert into diary entries are stored locally within the App's private storage on your device.

2. Data Storage and Security

All diary entries are encrypted before being stored on your device.
Your PIN is stored using platform-level secure storage mechanisms.
The App operates entirely offline and does not communicate with any external servers.
No data is stored in the cloud or on remote servers.

3. Data Sharing

We do not share your data with any third parties. Since all data remains on your device, there is no data to share. The only way data leaves your device is when you explicitly choose to export your diary entries as PDF files to your device's Downloads folder.

4. Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. No third-party SDKs that collect user data are included in the App.

5. Permissions

The App may request the following permissions:

Biometric Authentication: To allow unlocking the App using fingerprint or face recognition. This is optional and can be enabled or disabled in the App's settings.
Storage Access (Android 9 and below only): To export diary entries as PDF files to the Downloads folder. On Android 10 and above, exports use the system MediaStore API and do not require storage permissions.
Photo Library Access: To allow you to insert images from your photo library into diary entries. Photos are only accessed when you explicitly choose to add an image.

6. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The App does not collect any personal information from any user regardless of age.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

Your data exists only as long as the App is installed on your device.
You can delete individual diary entries at any time within the App.
You can reset the entire App (deleting all entries and settings) from the Settings screen.
Uninstalling the App will permanently remove all associated data from your device.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
